Hot, hot, hot

Many thanks to Stolie, my inspiration for this post.

The other day the boy and I were debating the delta value vs. the conversion rate between Celsius and Fahrenheit. (He's a chemical engineer. I'm a math teacher. We do this for fun.)

Well, I'll tell you the difference between 75 degrees Fahrenheit and 89 degrees Fahrenheit. Yesterday was 89 when I ran; today it was 75. The following is based on anecdotal evidence and is not to be confused with actual science.

75 - A two-mile run feels good. 89 - 1.5 miles feels like it may land you in the hospital.

75 - People smile at each other. 89 - A nod of the head seems like SO much effort.

75 - Dogs play. 89 - Dogs play dead.

75 - I'm planning a beach day with my cousin and her three little girls. 89 - I still spent most of the day outside, but most people think I'm crazy anyhow.
